SHORT-TERM MISSIONS Opportunities
There is a wide variety of ministries to participate in during your short-term mission trip. You may choose to serve in an area of your gifting or participate in an area of ministry you wish to grow in. Take a look at the list below to get an idea of what kinds of ministry opportunities we have.
Children’s Ministry
You will have the opportunity to work closely with several of our dedicated missionaries who share your heart for children. You will assist the missionaries in the Kids Club Program by preparing Bible lessons and crafts, and playing games with the children.
Church Ministry
We love having teams participate in our services to create a family environment. Teams have helped to lead worship, share testimonies, and often prepare skits for our Sunday evening service!
Village Ministry
Draganesti is a large village that is surrounded by 25 smaller villages. You will have the opportunity to minister in Draganesti and its outlying villages through helping in caring for the needs of the widows, delivering food, and much more within our community.
After-School Program
Neighborhood children come to our after-school program to receive a meal, homework help, and lots of love in an environment that is safe for them. Teams join this mission by partnering in these activities - sharing the hope and love of Jesus daily!
Youth Activities
We like to reach out to the neighborhood youth through fun activities that will draw them into the church. Our focus is on relationship building and discipleship. Teams help with organizing fun youth activities, teaching English, and playing soccer and many additional activities.
Intercessory Prayer
Every morning, you will have the opportunity to participate in intercessory prayer. This is a great way to connect and build deep relationships with our local missionary staff as they lead the prayer each morning at the church. You will also learn about the needs of Draganesti, Romania, and the Balkan region. This has been a favorite activity of teams in the past, and we look forward to partnering with you in prayer
New Testament for Every Home
Partnering with our team, and New Testament Project - you will help share the Word of God in door-to-door evangelism throughout local villages by providing people with copies of the New Testament, sharing the hope of Jesus, and His love for us.
Eyeglass Ministry
The Eyeglass Ministry involves members of Hope Church Romania, Hope Church UK, and World Race in Draganesti-Olt. People from the local community are given blood pressure screenings, counseling, reading glasses, exposure to Jesus, and prayer. This is an important ministry because it meets both physical and spiritual needs.
"New life" Prison Ministry
"New Life” Ministry has as a main purpose, recovering, rehabilitation and reintegration of the ones that are in prisons, over Craiova Penitentiaries. This project is working under the legal authority of “Aletheia” Christian Centre.
Special Events and Other Activities
You will have the opportunity to organize events that will bring the community together in fellowship. Here are a few examples of events you may want to undertake as part of this ministry:
- Put on a concert.
- Host events for specific groups, such as youth, men, and women.
- Visit the homes of people in the community to encourage and love them.
